As to the core Christian narrative, this appears unlikely to have any effect. No doubt those who make their living feeding on conspiracy theories and selling that bilge to the public will have a flurry of cinematic successes. But Christianity works because the words of the Book are true, and the Spirit of God confirms them with power in the hearts and lives of believers. Jesus will build His church, and the fanciful stories of those accustomed to spitting on the cross, as the Templars apparently did, will do nothing to impede the plan of God.Knights Templar stuff for sale. Seems fascinating wish I could afford a copy but there it is.
I just read the news article it was very interesting. I would be very surprised if it changes anything for either the mainstream historian or the conspiracy theorist. It might give a few more details and some cooperating evidence but if there is a conspiracy this will be sanitized information anyway.

On October 13, 1307 Philip had the Templars arrested on grounds of heresy; since this was the only charge that would allow the seizing of their money and assets.





The Templars were tortured and confessions were given. These confessions included:

Homosexuality and Sodomy

Under the 'correct' manner of torture we'd all say we were gay even if we weren't.
